Celebration of International Childhood Cancer Day at HAH

International Childhood Cancer Day (ICCD) is a global collaborative campaign, held annually on February 15, to raise awareness about childhood cancer and its unique challenges. We too celebrated ICCD day in Home Away from Home (HAH) running by Varsha Foundation on 15th Feb’ 24. Various Awareness Activities were conducted in the HAH. Our Counsellor, Social workers, HAH supervisor and staff members delivered the speeches and assured all the HAH families that childhood cancer is curable and shared their experience and knowledge as how to recognize cancer at early stage, bring child to pediatrics cancer treatment center etc.

“Veer Chakra” decorated soldier Col. BKD Badgel at HAH

Today, we were fortunate to have a “Veer Chakra” decorated soldier Col. BKD Badgel and his wife Mrs. Sarita Badgel amongst us at Home Away from Home (HAH, a home run by Varsha Foundation for the children with cancer and their families, we also call this home “Sneh Ashray”. We feel proud that such a brave personality visited HAH and blessed the children battling cancer and their families.

We thank them for their kind visit to HAH and the love and affection showered by them on our brave children.

75th Republican Day celebrated in HAH

75th Republican Day celebrated in Home Away from Home (HAH) in Lucknow, running by Varsha Foundation for the children suffering from cancer and their families. Christmas celebration at HAH

We celebrated the Christmas festival in the Home Away from Home (HAH), running by the Varsha Foundation for the children suffering from cancer and their families at Lucknow. On this occasion, Santa blessed all the children, distributed lots of gifts woolen clothes, sweaters, caps, gloves, socks, gift hampers, juices, chocolates, biscuits, toys, cakes etc. Woolen cardigans and jackets were given to all their family members. The magic show was amazing and entertained the home. HAH was beautifully decorated with a Christmas tree, flowers, lighting, etc.

Celebrated of Diwali with traditional customs with all the children battling cancer

Can we imagine that a lovely child is fighting cancer and is undergoing treatment in an unknown city, far away from his hometown and he cannot go home on Diwali.

We celebrated Diwali with traditional customs with all the children battling cancer and their families at “Home Away from Home” (HAH) running by Varsha Foundation. All the families performed puja, cooked together, had parties, wore new clothes, decorated the house beautifully, and gave gifts to everyone. The beauty of the HAH is that all the children forgot that they were away from home, the families also enjoyed the festival with full enthusiasm. I am sharing a few pics and videos here.

Navratri celebration at HAH

1st नवरात्रि (Navratri) Sunday 15 October was the memorable and special day as we did worship, Hawan, Puja for well being of our donors, well-wisher, supporters and the children braving cancer. I thank God I was also there in the Home Away from Home (HAH) a home running by Varsha Foundation for the children suffering from cancer and their families at Lucknow and participate in the puja.

Nutrition week celebrated in the HAH

Nutritious food is essential for children suffering from cancer. Nutrition week celebrated in the Home Away from Home (HAH), a home running by Varsha Foundation in Lucknow for children battling cancer and their families. A food competition was organized in which all the mothers of children participated and awards given to winners and gifts to all. Children enjoyed the delicious and nutritious food together.

International childhood cancer awareness program

September month is the international childhood cancer awareness month. We also conducted an awareness program in our Home Away from Home (HAH) a home for the children suffering from cancer and their families at Lucknow running by Varsha Foundation in which all staff members, children, and their families participated with full enthusiasm and conveyed the message that childhood cancer is curable.
