75th Republican Day celebrated in Home Away from Home (HAH) in Lucknow, running by Varsha Foundation for the children suffering from cancer and their families. All the children suffering from cancer and their families participated and celebrated the republic day in the HAH. We are sharing a few pics and clips here, see how they are so happy.

We celebrated the Christmas festival in the Home Away from Home (HAH), running by the Varsha Foundation for the children suffering from cancer and their families at Lucknow. On this occasion, Santa blessed all the children, distributed lots of gifts woolen clothes, sweaters, caps, gloves, socks, gift hampers, juices, chocolates, biscuits, toys, cakes etc. Woolen cardigans and jackets were given to all their family members. The magic show was amazing and entertained the home. HAH was beautifully decorated with a Christmas tree, flowers, lighting, etc.

18 December was a blessed day for HAH a home for children suffering from cancer and their families at Lucknow running by Varsha Foundation. We celebrated monthly birthday in the HAH.

Can we imagine that a lovely child is fighting cancer and is undergoing treatment in an unknown city, far away from his hometown and he cannot go home on Diwali.

We celebrated Diwali with traditional customs with all the children battling cancer and their families at “Home Away from Home” (HAH) running by Varsha Foundation. All the families performed puja, cooked together, had parties, wore new clothes, decorated the house beautifully, and gave gifts to everyone. The beauty of the HAH is that all the children forgot that they were away from home, the families also enjoyed the festival with full enthusiasm. I am sharing a few pics and videos here.

1st नवरात्रि (Navratri) Sunday 15 October was the memorable and special day as we did worship, Hawan, Puja for well being of our donors, well-wisher, supporters and the children braving cancer. I thank God I was also there in the Home Away from Home (HAH) a home running by Varsha Foundation for the children suffering from cancer and their families at Lucknow and participate in the puja.

Nutritious food is essential for children suffering from cancer. Nutrition week celebrated in the Home Away from Home (HAH), a home running by Varsha Foundation in Lucknow for children battling cancer and their families. A food competition was organized in which all the mothers of children participated and awards given to winners and gifts to all. Children enjoyed the delicious and nutritious food together.

September month is the international childhood cancer awareness month. We also conducted an awareness program in our Home Away from Home (HAH) a home for the children suffering from cancer and their families at Lucknow running by Varsha Foundation in which all staff members, children, and their families participated with full enthusiasm and conveyed the message that childhood cancer is curable.

“Raksha Bandhan,” is one of the biggest festivals celebrated in HAH, Sneh Aashray. The festival of Rakhi is a bond of love and care between brother and sister. On this occasion children living with cancer celebrated Raksha Bandhan at HAH. Girls tied Rakhi to boys, and boys gave gifts and cash envelopes to girls. The festival celebrated in a homely atmosphere, and no family living in HAH should feel that they are away from home. The life of children with cancer journey is not easy. In Home Away from Home (HAH), a home for the children suffering from cancer and their families running by Varsha Foundation at Lucknow, children live their childhood with full of joy with treatment. They play the way they want, eat healthy food, they do yoga, watch TV, they get non formal education, play room is full with entertainment items, they participate in all birthday and all other celebrations.

KGMU hospital Lucknow administration organised a awareness program in ophthalmological department on childhood cancer. Varsha Foundation team actively participate in the programme and we made our presence in the programme. Varsha Foundation providing financial support for RB Cancer (retinoblastoma cancer), including surgery and emergency cases. I am sharing with you a few pics and clip of the programme.
