Childhood Cancer Survivor Day reminds us that while the cancer journey is tough, the spirit of a child is tougher. Varsha Foundation will continue to support for better treatments, survivorship programs, and support systems that ensure our warriors live healthy, happy lives beyond cancer.

Dear well-wishers,

We celebrate all the festivals at Home Away From Home (HAH), a home for children suffering from cancer and their families at Lucknow. We celebrated “EID” too at HAH. All the children and their families celebrated the festival, cooked “मीठी सिवई” together, and wished each other on this occasion. Children did craft activities and gifts 🎁 given to all.

Holi festival was celebrated with great enthusiasm in Home Away from Home (HAH) running by Varsha Foundation for the children suffering from cancer and their families at Lucknow. No chemical colors were used, instead it was celebrated with flowers. These were very emotional moments because these children and families will not be able to go to their homes. HAH has always fulfilled this need.. all festivals are celebrated here with great love and care. Everyone had a lot of fun, danced a lot, ate Gujiya, congratulated each other, and prayed to God that all the children get well soon. Everyone celebrated this festival happily.

International Childhood Cancer Day (ICCD) is a global collaborative campaign, held annually on February 15, to raise awareness about childhood cancer and its unique challenges. We too celebrated ICCD day in Home Away from Home (HAH) running by Varsha Foundation on 15th Feb’ 24. Various Awareness Activities were conducted in the HAH. Our Counsellor, Social workers, HAH supervisor and staff members delivered the speeches and assured all the HAH families that childhood cancer is curable and shared their experience and knowledge as how to recognize cancer at early stage, bring child to pediatrics cancer treatment center etc.

Today, we were fortunate to have a “Veer Chakra” decorated soldier Col. BKD Badgel and his wife Mrs. Sarita Badgel amongst us at Home Away from Home (HAH, a home run by Varsha Foundation for the children with cancer and their families, we also call this home “Sneh Ashray”. We feel proud that such a brave personality visited HAH and blessed the children battling cancer and their families.

We thank them for their kind visit to HAH and the love and affection showered by them on our brave children.

Varsha Foundation registered its presence in the National Book Fair Lucknow and participated in a childhood cancer awareness program. Varsha Foundation representative Sangeeta and Himanshu participated in the program.

Shri Krishna Janamasthmi the birthday of lord Shri Krishna celebrated at Home Away from Home (HAH), “Sneh Ashray” a home for children suffering from cancer and their families run by Varsha Foundation at Lucknow. All together did puja, lunch, and dinner together, gifts distributed to all the children, dance..fun..feeling like they are not away from their hometown and siblings. See the smiling little angels and their family members.

Yesterdays was great day for HAH, I feel proud that “Sneh Ashray” Home away from Home (HAH) (a home for children suffering from cancer and their families) run by Varsha Foundation in Lucknow completed 4 years and entered in the 5th year on 15th August 2023.

A grand celebration of independence Day and Foundation Day celebrated on 15th August. Children braving cancer and their families and guests participated in the celebration.
National flag was hoisted by cancer survivors. Children enjoyed magic show, delicious food together. Gifts of chiice were given to the children.

The celebration was held with great enthusiasm and brought happiness to the children.

Childhood cancer is curable

We celebrate all the festivals at Home Away From Home (HAH), Sneh Aashray, a home running by Varsha Foundation in Lucknow for children battling cancer and their families. Yesterday we also celebrated “Eid” with completely vegetarian food.

All children and their family members prayed to Allah to heal everyone with his mercy so that can fight with cancer and get well soon.
